Bronze Medallion
Bronze Medallion is an award course that is perfect for individuals seeking to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a lifeguard or pursue a career in aquatic safety. This certification teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness. The Bronze Medallion course is largely recognized and is a prerequisite for many advanced courses in aquatic safety.
Bronze Cross
The Bronze Cross Award is designed for lifesavers that want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. This course builds on the foundational skills developed in the Bronze Medallion. Participants will learn how to effectively manage emergency situations in a variety of aquatic environments, including lakes, rivers, and oceans.
National Lifeguard Award
Recognized as the standard for lifeguards in Canada, National Lifeguard (NL) certification training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. The primary role of the NL lifeguard is the prevention of emergency situations and the timely and effective resolution of emergencies. The NL certification prepares lifeguards to fulfill this role as professional facilitators of safe, enjoyable aquatics.
