Boat Rescue for First Responders

This comprehensive course provides first responders with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively respond to water-related emergencies. It is recommended training for those working in resource management, emergency response or the outdoor industry.

  • Emergency Response Planning and Execution
  • Records and Documentation
Equipment

Candidates are encouraged to bring their own motorized watercraft in which to practice.

Prerequisites
  • 18 years old
  • Standard First Aid (AEC or Lifesaving Standard First Aid recommended)
  • Ability to complete the Swim To Survive Standard (ROLL into deep water, TREAD water for one minute, and SWIM 50 meters)
  • Pleasure Craft Operator (PCO) card and
  • Basic boat handling skills

The course is limited to 12 participants per instructor. Registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable
