Surfer’s Rescue Clinic – River Surf
Our clinic is designed to provide a comprehensive training program that includes both dryland (40%) and in-water instruction (60%). Upon successful completion of the clinic, candidates will receive a digital certificate.
Duration: 4 hours
Ratio: 1:16
Location: Any moving body of water with a stationary wave (preferably Class II-III)

- Self Rescue
- Identify Someone in Distress
- Offensive and Defensive Swimming
- Removals
- Surfer’s Approach
- Board Specific Rescues (1 and 2 victims)
- Throw Bag Usage
- Adult CPR
- First Aid Kits
Equipment
Wetsuit, quick release leash (either on a belt of pfd), throw bag, helmet (optional) and your personal board
Prerequisites
12 years of age and the ability to complete the Lifesaving Society Swim to Survive
Test (ROLL into deep water, TREAD water for one minute, and SWIM 50m to safety)
The course is limited to 16 participants per instructor. Registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable
