International Life Saving Federation (ILS)
The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) is the world authority for drowning prevention, lifesaving and lifesaving sport. ILS leads, supports and collaborates with national and international organizations engaged in drowning prevention, water safety, water rescue, lifesaving, lifeguarding and lifesaving sport. The International Life Saving Federation is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), World Health Organization (WHO), and International Military Sports Council, which is also known as the Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM)
World Conference on Drowning Prevention
Every two years, the International Life Saving Federation brings together its member organisations and the world’s leading researchers, practitioners and policy makers to present and discuss the latest research and thinking in drowning prevention, lifesaving, rescue, water safety, lifesaving sport and related fields at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention (WCDP). World Drowning Report
The World Drowning Report aims to define the current global drowning problem, to identify the current state of drowning mortality data collection, to provide strategies to enhance and encourage better data collection and to provide opportunities for global learning from case profiles of countries with well- developed reporting systems and mechanisms.
Drowning Prevention Strategies
The ILS Drowning Prevention Strategies, a framework to reduce drowning deaths in the aquatic environment for nations/regions engaged in lifesaving, reviews strategies that have been introduced within member federations.
